125 Years VDMA – Humans|Machines|Progress – Vacuum technology

125 Years VDMAThe Mechanical Engineering Industry Association was founded in 1892. With more than 3200 member companies today, it is Europe’s largest industry association. Mechanical engineering was and still is a major driver of progress and creates the technical requirements for a wide range of innovations.

VACOM has been an active member of the VDMA Compressor, Compressed Air and Vacuum Technology Association for many years. The multimedia report “Air – breath of life, raw material, tool“ not only describes the importance of air for our life and our working world, but also visualizes what power and technical capabilities are unfolded when air is extracted from a vessel and a vacuum is created:

VACOM Is Member of the Research Consortium optIclock

optIclock [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_clock#Optical_clocks]Within the strategy process in the field of the quantum technologies QUTEGA initiated by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the pilot project “optIclock - optical single ion clock” has started in May 2017.
The “optIclock” is expected to “render the enormous potential of quantum technologies, …, into something useful beyond academic research. The optIclock demonstrator aims … being better than any commercial clock or frequency standard. In contrast to the laboratory solutions, the optIclock will be transportable and non-scientific users can operate it even in an office environment.”  Further fields of application are the synchronization of large networks, global satellite navigation systems or geodetic measurements.

Members oft he research consortium: Ferdinand Braun Institut Berlin, High Finesse GmbH, Menlo Systems GmbH, PTB Braunschweig, QUARTIQ GmbH, Qubig GmbH, TOPTICA Photonics AG, Universität Bonn, Universität Siegen und VACOM Vakuum Komponenten & Messtechnik GmbH

VACOM Has Successfully Achieved the Jury Level of the Competition 'Großer Preis des Mittelstandes (Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Businesses)' 2017

Urkunde Mittelstandspreis Jurystufe 2017 VorschauFor many years, VACOM has been participating in the competition for “the most important business award” for the “German Mittelstand” established by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation that dignifies the performance of medium-sized businesses. Criteria are the general development of the companies in connection with job and qualification creation/security, customer service, investment and innovation strength and regional activities.

VACOM received the coveted prize in 2003 and was honored as “Premier Finalist“ in 2013.
