VACOM only processes vacuum compatible materials such as stainless steels, ceramics and crystals.

For demanding vacuum applications VACOM has forged corrosion resistant stainless steel 1.4429-ESU (316LN ESR) in stock. This material, made by the process of electroslag remelting (ESR), is characterized by its purity and homogeneity, great hardness and very low magnetic permeability. The material is especially made according to VACOM specification. Regarding the composition and purity, VACOM has orientated itself on state-of-the-art technology and narrowed tolerances much more than specified by the standard. VACOM ESR stainless steel is controlled by VACOM from melting to the final product.
