COLDION® - VACOM's own cold cathode ionization gauge series was developed for pressure measurements from fine vacuum to ultra-high vacuum. Additionally, the COLDION® extended can measure pressures down to extreme ultra-high vacuum reliably.

In general, the VACOM cold cathode ionization vacuum gauges are characterized by their wide measuring range. These vacuum gauges work on the principle of the Penning discharge. Therefore, the absence of heat sources like they can be found in hot cathodes make the cold cathode especially suitable for any applications in high vacuum (HV) or ultra-high vacuum (UHV), for particle accelerators, or in cryo environments. Due to the wide measuring range and the outstanding long-term stability, the COLDION® series is also very suitable for sputtering and coating processes and vacuum-based analysis methods.
